the beginning of the end

It is already half way through August, and it has been far too long since my last post.  I know I had all these plans for stuff to get done in July, but it turns out we started a lot of projects in July and will hopefully be finishing them in August.  And sadly now that it is August it also means that summer is comming to an end, it went by too fast!

We have been working like crazy on the deck, unfortunately it has really only been the two of us working on it so it's not going as quickly as we would like.  We are at the point now though where we can probably order our composite, but here is what it looks like so far

The dresser that I was working on has finally been moved up to our bedroom, but it's still not finished.  The drawers are all still downstairs waiting for the handles to be put on.  So that left us with an extra dresser in our room which I moved to the guest bedroom

Obviously this room still needs a lot of help, but I am trying to save the inside projects for this winter.

So here is the plan for the rest of August:
1) Finish dresser
2) Continue working on deck
3) Get rid of broken chair (Wayne has not let me get rid of this yet)
4) Finish TV/DVD stand
5) Paint trim around door in garage
6) Get desk completely sanded

This past weekend we went furniture shopping just to look around and see what was out there.  Surprisingly, we did find one set that we really liked at Value City and are trying to decide if we really want to pull the trigger on this one or wait it out a little longer with what we have.
